Sr. Interior Architectural Designer

We are seeking an experienced full time Sr. Interior Architectural Designer with 10+ years of experience in residential interior design creating interior elevations and design detail plans (4+ years doing classical design projects) and 8+ years leading a team of designers to create interior elevations and design detail plans to join our collaborative team of highly-creative design professionals.

You will build out and professionalize the capability of the interior architecture design team and processes, increasing the predictability of delivery and depth of quality to interior architectural design & detail plans. You will have exceptionally compelling classical conceptual interior design talent (expert hand-drawn artistic skills will be a big plus). You will be confident & approachable, authoritative & collaborative with clients, with the ability to make personal connections with them.

You will be intrinsically motivated and naturally eager to create a narrative that best articulates what each client is drawn to with interior architectural designs that capture and express the feelings they've found difficult to articulate. ROLE TASKS:

The Sr. Interior Architectural Designer collaborates with the Architect and Project Manager to design the interior architecture, holistically building on the design intent of the exterior to capture, articulate and express the client’s feelings. They direct and review the work of a team of architectural interior designers. They meet project delivery timelines. They create interior study and design mood boards, hand-drawn interior renderings, interior 3D models, interior elevation plans, interior design detail plans, and select & specify permanently affixed materials/fixtures.

They present to and interact with clients and collaborate with third-party interior designers to source and order materials that meet the design intent and specifications. They develop architectural interior designers’ capabilities and assist them in achieving their career aspirations. While holding team members accountable, they empower a team of architectural interior designers to make independent decisions and take a collaborative approach to getting the work done.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of experience in residential interior design creating interior elevations and design detail plans (4+ years doing classical design projects)

  • 8+ years leading a team of designers to create interior elevations and design detail plans

  • Highly experienced in capturing the interiors program along with the emotional intent of clients

  • Exceptional hand-rendering skills

  • Proficient in Revit or Chief Architect (Deep proficiency in Chief Architect is highly preferred, but not required)

  • Very experienced in interior design development

  • Very experienced in creating interior mood boards

  • Very experienced in creating interior elevations & design detail plans, and interiors specifications

  • Experienced in preparing and delivering conceptual presentations to clients

  • Experienced in residential construction materials and finishes (residential construction experience a big plus)

  • Experienced in sourcing and ordering materials

  • Experienced in 3D modeling (Revit highly preferred. Sketchup, or Chief Architect a big plus)

This position will require the candidate to manage multiple projects and evaluate and determine how to best keep projects progressing while managing client expectations. Position allows for limited ability to work from home and requires candidates to regularly commute to the office and to job sites..

COMPENSATION:

Compensation will be commensurate with experience. Health insurance benefits are available.


Jr. DESIGNER

We are seeking a full time Jr. Designer with a bachelor’s degree in architecture or equivalent experience with 3-5+ years of experience designing classical projects (3+ years designing classical residences) to join our collaborative team of highly-creative design professionals.

ROLE TASKS:

The Jr Designer collaborates with the Principal and Sr. Project Manager to assist in the conceptual design process as they capture and express the design intent, create design presentations & conceptual design boards, assist in project design development, create construction documents, produce renderings, as well as interior and exterior design details. Creates or assist in interior finishes & fixtures inspiration boards and selections for for appliances, cabinets & built-in casework, countertops, doors, fireplaces, flooring, hardware, lighting, millwork, mirrors, paint/stain, plumbing fixtures, stairs, stone, tile & grout.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, related field or equivalent experience

  • 3-5+ years of experience designing classically styled projects

  • 2-3+ years experience working on 3 or more projects at a time in the following:

    • Preparing and redlining CDs (site, landscape plans in coordination with landscape consultant, demo, floor plans, elevations & sections, reflected ceiling, finish schedules, interior elevations, schedule plans, design details, structural drawings, electrical drawings, and specifications)

    • Creating detailed interior elevations, design detail plans and interior details

  • Highly proficient in Revit

  • Experienced in site placement

  • Experienced in exterior and interior design development

  • Experienced in creating interior and exterior mood boards

  • Experienced in residential building code requirements

  • Experienced in preparing and assisting in delivering conceptual presentations to clients

  • Experienced in residential construction, installation methods and construction materials & finishes (residential construction experience a plus)

  • Experienced in 3D modeling (Sketchup, Revit or Chief Architect)

  • Exceptional hand-rendering skills a plus

  • Experienced in Lumion, Enscape or TwinMotion a plus
