Sr. Interior Architectural Designer

We are seeking an experienced full-time Sr. Interior Architectural Designer with a passion for the TDG aesthetic design philosophy, a bachelor's degree in interior architecture, a related degree, or equivalent experience, 10+ years of experience creating residential interior elevations and design detail plans (4+ years focused on classical design projects) and 8+ years leadership orchestrating, planning, and managing project deliverables of team members to join our collaborative team of highly-creative design professionals.

As a key leader of our interiors team, you will collaborate with clients and our architects and designers to create a holistic interior vision that fosters an authentic experience, consistent with the exterior, and expresses the client's emotions. From developing design flavor boards to creating detailed technical documents, you will guide the entire interiors process while mentoring our talented architectural interiors team. You will build the capability of the interior architecture design team and processes, increasing the predictability of delivery and depth of quality in design and plans. You will possess exceptional interior and strong exterior conceptual design skills, exceptional technical CAD/Revit skills, a passion for the TDG aesthetic design philosophy, and a talent for capturing a client's emotional intent in the interior program. You will be approachable and confident, collaborative and authoritative with clients, with the ability to make personal connections with them.

You will be intrinsically motivated and naturally eager to create a narrative that articulates what each client is drawn to with interior architectural designs and expresses the feelings they've found difficult to articulate. ROLE TASKS:

The Sr. Interior Architectural Designer collaborates with the Architect and Project Manager to design the interior architecture, holistically building on the design intent of the exterior to capture, articulate, and express the client’s feelings. They direct and review the work of a team of architectural interior designers. They collaborate with the Project Manager to plan and ensure the interiors team meets project delivery timelines. They create interior study and design mood boards, hand-drawn interior renderings, interior 3D models, interior elevation plans, interior design detail plans, and select & specify permanently affixed materials/fixtures.

They present to and interact with clients and ensure that materials are sourced and ordered that meet the design intent and specifications. They develop architectural interior designers’ capabilities and assist them in achieving their career aspirations. While holding team members accountable, they empower a team of architectural interior designers to make independent decisions and take a collaborative approach to getting the work done.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of experience in residential interior design creating interior elevations and design detail plans (4+ years doing classical design projects)

  • 8+ years leading a team of designers to orchestrate, plan, and manage project deliverables, including interior elevations and design detail plans

  • Highly experienced in capturing the interiors program along with the emotional intent of clients

  • Exceptional hand-rendering skills

  • Very proficient in Revit, Chief Architect, or AutoCAD

  • Very experienced in interior design development

  • Very experienced in creating interior mood boards

  • Very experienced in creating interior elevations & design detail plans, and interiors specifications

  • Experienced in preparing and delivering conceptual presentations to clients

  • Experienced in residential construction materials and finishes (residential construction experience a big plus)

  • Experienced in sourcing and ordering materials

  • Experienced in 3D modeling (Revit highly preferred. Sketchup, or Chief Architect a big plus)

This position will require the candidate to manage multiple projects and evaluate and determine how to best keep projects progressing while managing client expectations. Position allows for limited ability to work from home and requires candidates to regularly commute to the office and to job sites..

Sr. Architect | Sr. DESIGNER

We are seeking an experienced full-time Sr. Architect or Sr. Designer with a passion for the TDG aesthetic design philosophy and exceptional client interaction experience, a bachelor’s degree in architecture or equivalent experience, 10+ years of experience designing classical projects (including architectural interiors), 7+ years leading design teams to join our collaborative team of highly creative design professionals.

THE RIGHT FIT: 

As an ideal candidate, you will bring your passion for the TDG aesthetic design philosophy and the emotional impact of classical design. As a key design leader, you'll work closely with the principal and the team to guide the architectural vision for our clients, guide the conceptual design process for architecture and interiors on multiple projects, mentor fellow team members, and ensure the TDG philosophy is woven into every detail. You will possess exceptional exterior and strong interior conceptual design skills. You will be confident & approachable, authoritative & collaborative with clients, with the ability to make personal connections with them. ROLE TASKS:

The Sr Architect | Sr. Designer collaborates with the Principal and Sr. Project Manager and is capable of creating design-related conceptual and technical documents on the most complex projects. Under the direction of the Principal, they lead the conceptual design process, true to the TDG design philosophy. Under the direction of the Principal, they capture and express the conceptual design intent of the client, create concept design presentations, monitor design development, and collaborate with our Interior Architectural Designers to keep the exterior and interior design intent aligned. They coordinate with Project Managers to provide design guidance for construction documents.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or equivalent experience (licensure is a plus)

  • 10+ years of experience designing classically styled projects (4+ years designing classical residences)

  • 7+ years leading a team of designers

  • Highly experienced in capturing the project program along with the emotional intent of clients

  • Exceptional hand-rendering skills

  • Highly experienced in site placement

  • Highly experienced in design development

  • Highly experienced in redlining CDs (site, demo, floor plans, elevations & sections, reflected ceiling, finish schedules, interior elevations, schedule plans, design details, structural drawings, electrical drawings, and specifications)

  • Very Experienced in interior architectural design (including designing/selecting appliances, cabinets & built-in casework, countertops, doors, fireplaces, flooring, hardware, lighting, millwork, mirrors, paint/stain, plumbing fixtures, stairs, stone, tile & grout)

  • Experienced in residential building code requirements

  • Experienced in preparing and delivering conceptual presentations to clients

  • Experienced in residential construction, installation methods and construction materials & finishes (residential construction experience a plus)

  • Experience in 3D modeling using Sketchup, Revit or Chief Architect a big plus

Sr. Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced full-time Sr. Project Manager with a passion for and background in classical design and exceptional client interaction experience, a bachelor’s degree in architecture or equivalent experience, 10+ years of experience architectural drafting and design development experience, 8+ years leading design teams, managing project deliverables, and creating construction documents to join our collaborative team of highly creative design professionals.

THE RIGHT FIT:

As the leader of technical implementation, you will transform architectural vision into reality. You will be responsible for leading the creation of architectural and interior construction documents to develop the design and ensure every detail is executed with care. Your role is crucial in orchestrating, planning, and managing the firm's projects from beginning to end while mentoring our talented technical design team and overseeing the technical aspects of the firm's projects. You will possess exceptional project planning skills, a proven track record of supporting team members in delivering project deliverables on time, and a high proficiency in Revit.

ROLE TASKS:

The Sr Project Manager collaborates closely with the Principal and the team to plan and execute projects from beginning to end. They assist in developing the design and lead the creation of construction documents and specifications, and are capable of creating construction documents on the most complex projects. They develop technical standards and ensure that construction documents meet these standards. They develop team capabilities related to design development and construction documents and assist them in achieving career aspirations. They empower team members to make independent decisions, review and redline their work, and take a primarily collaborative approach.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of architectural drafting experience coordinating multiple projects

  • 10+ years of experience creating residential construction documents (5+ years creating CDs for projects with a classical design style preferred)

  • 8+ years leading a team to create CDs

  • Highly proficient in Revit

  • Highly experienced in preparing site plans, landscape plans (in coordination with landscape consultant), demolition plans, floor plans, building elevations & sections, reflected ceiling plans & finish schedules, interior elevations, schedule plans, detail plans, structural drawings (in coordination with engineer), electrical drawings, and specifications

  • Highly experienced in residential building code requirements (experience within municipalities along the Wasatch Front preferred)

  • Highly experienced in residential construction and installation methods and construction materials and finishes (residential construction experience a big plus)

  • Very experienced in designing classically styled projects (including residences)
